How to install Zoom on your Windows, MAC or Linux PC

For PC:

  1. Go to the Zoom website and click on the “Sign Up Free” button located at the top of the homepage.
  2. Save the installer file to your computer and run it.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
  4. Once installed, open the Zoom app and sign in or create an account to start using it.

For Mac:

  1. Go to the Zoom website and click on the “Sign Up Free” button located at the top of the homepage.
  2. Save the installer file to your computer and run it.
  3. Drag the Zoom app icon to the Applications folder to install it.
  4. Once installed, open the Zoom app and sign in or create an account to start using it.

Debian, Ubuntu, or Linux Mint

  1. Go to the Zoom website and click on the “Sign Up Free” button located at the top of the homepage.

Follow these instructions to install Zoom on Linux distributions, such as Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Arch. You can also use these instructions to upgrade an existing Zoom installation on Linux.

Also please note: These steps also apply to most other Ubuntu-based distributions, such as Kubuntu and Elementary.

Using a graphical installer

This method is recommended for new Linux users or those who prefer a graphical installer.

  1. Open the terminal, type the following command and press Enter to install GDebi.
sudo apt install gdebi

Note : GDebi is usually installed by default on most Ubuntu-based distributions. If you are using Debian and get an error that you are not in the sudoers file, run the following commands to install sudo and try installing GDebi again.

-apt install sudo
  1. Enter the administrator password and continue with the installation when prompted.
  2. Download the DEB installer file from our Download Center .
  3. Double click on the installer file to open it with GDebi.
  4. Click Install .
  5. Enter the administrator password and continue with the installation when prompted.

How to install Zoom in Linux from Terminal

  1. Download the DEB installer file from the Download Center .
  2. Open the download location using a file manager.
  3. Right-click the file manager and click Terminal or Open in Terminal to open the terminal in the current location.
  4. Type the following command and press Enter to run it.
sudo apt install ./zoom_amd64.deb

Note :

Be sure to enter the correct DEB file name. In most cases the file name will be zoom_amd64.deb , but it will be different if you have to use a 32-bit system or a DEB file for an older version of Debian or Ubuntu.

If you are using Debian and get an error that you are not in the sudoers file, run the following commands and try to install again.

su
-apt install sudo

Enter the administrator password and continue with the installation when prompted.
